Chocolate Potato Cake

1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
3 oz. unsweetened chocolate, belted
½ cup potatoes, cold and mashed
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. fresh orange peel, grated
¼ tsp. nutmeg, grated
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup milk
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
cocoa for dusting
whipped cream and walnuts for garnish

In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar with electric mixer at high speed. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add melted chocolate, mashed potatoes, cinnamon, orange peel and nutmeg. Combine flour and baking soda. Combine milk and lemon juice. Add flour to chocolate mixture alternately with milk beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Stir in chopped walnuts. Grease a 9-inch spring form pan and dust with cocoa. Spoon batter into pan. Bake for 1 hour 30 minutes, 350F, or until a cake tester inserted in the center of cake comes out clean. Cool pan 20 minutes. Remove side; cool cake completely. Garnish with whipped cream and sprinkle with walnuts. Serves 12.
